Top Adventure Travel Destinations

Are you more of an all-inclusive resort kind of guy/gal while traveling or do you prefer to sign up with a local family for a homestay? Instead of chasing the crowd, do you take the less-traveled road? Will you look behind the curtain to see Oz’s true wizard or be too much of a coward to do that? Will you want to challenge yourself in a foreign country and venture beyond your comfort zone? If so, you’re an adventurous explorer with your hands down.

Top Adventure Travel Destinations

Vancouver

Vancouver is a perfect place to explore nature at high speeds, as the birthplace of freeride mountain biking. Pedal over twisting wooden bridges across the national parks and down tremendous drops, or see it all on a zip line from above.

You’ll never be far from a world-class ski resort if you visit it in winter. If you are an accomplished skier or snowboarder or just starting out, there is something for everyone in the British Columbian ski areas.

Queenstown

The world’s extreme sports capital seems like an obvious place to launch the list of destinations for adventure. All year round, this amazing town is an adventure destination. Take a helicopter ride over Milford Sound and Mitre Peak or, for a more intense experience, jump out of the helicopter with skis strapped on.

The mountains open up to mountaineers throughout the summer. To discover the stunningly spectacular scenery of the surrounding national parks, grab a map from a nearby tourist information center and put on those hiking boots.

Leh

The scenery around Leh is one of India’s most surreal, with its ochre, bare rocky mountains contrasted by jade-green rivers and lakes. It’s also a popular destination for daredevils, aside from its natural beauty. Take part in one of the many adrenaline-pumping sports, including mountaineering, cycling, and river rafting, accessible in the high-altitude and rugged desert terrain.

But maybe the best way to enjoy the scenery is on foot, through the hundreds of pristine hiking trails lined with Buddhist gompas and covering the mountains.

Livingstone

Although it’s mostly visited en route to Victoria Falls, the world’s largest waterfall, Livingstone is also the paradise of an adrenaline-seeker. Some of the world’s best whitewater rafting, which you can also pair with a camping trip or a nature safari, is offered by the rapids thundering out of the Waterfall.

You may also go bungee jumping, canoeing, abseiling, or zip-lining across the bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Hopefully, this will be of help to you. If you have more suggestions then do let us know.
